Introduction

Yongsan International School of Seoul (YISS) is a private, K-12 school in Seoul offering an American curriculum to the international community. The school welcomes families and students of all religions and worldviews, providing a rich multicultural experience. YISS’ instructional program is academically rigorous and includes an extensive offering of AP courses at the high school level.

The school is made up of 1,000 students from age 5 to age 18 from 57 countries.

Curriculum 

The instructional program at YISS consists of a curriculum based primarily on standards from the U.S. educational system. 

Teaching Languages

All instructions are in English, with the exception of the foreign language classes (Mandarin, Korean, Spanish, French, and Japanese). 

Co-Curricular Activities

YISS’ comprehensive extracurricular program includes a rich array of athletics, performing and fine arts, community service, and leadership programs which develop the whole child, enabling students to pursue their passions and talents.

YISS facilities have been expanded and upgraded through several remodeling projects to further develop and improve the school site

State-of-the-art facilities include the latest learning technology, two libraries, two gymnasiums, a spacious cafeteria, a 500-seat auditorium, a full-size turf soccer field, and a beautiful indoor aquatics center. YISS provides bus service to assist families with student transportation to and from the school. 22 buses cover most major areas of Seoul and Bundang.

Bus routes are revised annually according to shifts in student population and are designed to accommodate the transportation needs of our students as efficiently as possible with students spending an average of only 25-30 minutes on the bus.
